What are the next steps for Brexit and marketers?

As I’m sure you’re all aware, last Thursday the UK voted to leave the European Union (EU).

While the UK will remain a member of the EU for at least the next two years, and the consequences of Brexit are still largely unknown, the UK will still be facing a long period of economic uncertainty.

Because of this, it’s difficult to know the exact ramifications for marketers, and businesses in general, never mind how they should respond.

However, the DMA rightly state that UK companies trading with EU citizens must continue to respect their rights. The DMA Code remains the best guide for UK marketers to ensure they are putting the customer at the heart of their organisation, building relationships based on trust that benefit both the business and the customer.

Marketers have lots of questions, which will only increase in the coming weeks and months. At Pure360, we will be closely following the DMA, who are taking an active role in researching and discussing the impact Brexit will have on marketers.

For more information from the DMA, head to their recent blog post on the subject, or their Q&A post.
