See it, hear it, buy it!

Are you ready for the customers who want it all – and want it now?

Products on demand

It’s no revelation that web stores, WAP phones and SMS now allow customers to see, sample and purchase whatever takes their fancy almost instantly. More than ever before, customers are beginning to expect instant gratification with minimum effort – and if they don’t get it, they’re liable to go elsewhere.

Right here, right now!

Trendwatching.com calls this phenomenon ‘See-Hear-Buy’: the capability to buy everything you see or hear, wherever you are.

Whether it’s sending a gift via text message or ordering a hand-tailored business suit via WAP phone to collect on arrival in New York, it’s no longer simply variety of choice that turns your customers on but absolute control of where, when and how they buy.

Point, click, receive

It’s becoming more and more important to discover ways in which you can put yourself and your products at the beck-and-call of your customers, online and off.

Some are taking this to extreme measures. Wireless proximity services company Hypertag – whose tagline is ‘Point Click Receive’ – is working on enabling phone users to ‘point their phone at a magazine or newspaper article and be linked to a web page.’

You don’t have to go that far, of course. As long as you regularly remind your customers of the benefits you provide and make sure they have a simple way to access your services – a sales number to call and a useful website – you’ll satisfy the ‘See-Hear-Buy’ generation. For now, at least.
