In the first of a new monthly series, we are aiming to help you get the most from your email newsletters. Send in your newsletter for a FREE check-up from newsletter expert Andrew Seel, MD of Qube, the digital marketing specialists. This month, he looks at Face Media Group.

Face Media Group (FMG) is an online print broker that sources quality printing firms so thousands of small businesses can produce their promotional literature, business cards and magazines for the best price. FMG can turn around 5,000 postcard flyers in three days.

Andrew’s initial thoughts…

  1. It is not immediately clear when I first opened the email what Face Media Group does or why I should be reading the newsletter.
  2. I can’t see what period this newsletter covers – this may not be the same as the date it was sent.
  3. The illustration draws my eyes down below the offers, making them easy to miss.
  4. The offers don’t really grab me. The headlines should shout the benefits – fantastic deals; money off etc.
  5. While the content ’10 ways to…’ is a good idea, the article looks wordy presented in this manner and may put off some readers. It also has no call to action, so there is no way of measuring if this is popular.
  6. The presentation is a bit busy in places, without clear demarcation of different types of content. Again this might put some people off.
