Teapigs – using social media integration to increase email sign ups by 30%

The Challenge

Teapigs are not about the hard sell rather they like to share news and engage with customers to create a wider Teapigs family, making sure people feel like they belong/connect with the brand.  Teapigs have well over 12,000 likes on Facebook and over 10,000 followers on Twitter, the challenge was converting these likes and follows to email addresses

The Solution

Teapigs use Pure360’s social media integration tools to engage with their Facebook fans and Twitter followers. The social media integration Pure360 offers also saves time for the marketers at Teapigs because previously when they were sending out campaigns Teapigs had to log into their social platforms to write/tweet a message with an online link to their email. Now Teapigs can send the email out and a message with an online link which will be posted onto their social pages.

The Facebook sign up form also gives a great channel to attract more sign ups to their newsletter on the homepage of their account.

The Results

Teapigs use email marketing as their primary channel to engage with our customers, i.e. for latest offers, new teas and a number of events we get involved in. What’s now working really well is that using Pure360 enables them to combine social media campaigns by driving traffic to the website as well as to their Facebook form to encourage more sign ups.

Recently Teapigs went one step further and to incentivise email sign up they ran a social campaign offering 10% off if people signed up to the newsletter. In the last four months Teapigs’s email sign ups have increased by 30% by using the Social register on Facebook functionality.
