Junior Systems Engineer

The Role:
The SysOps team is responsible for ensuring Pure360 is recognized to be achieving the best email deliverability for its customers as well as platform stability and proactive incident detection and resolution.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT graduate or someone with some years of experience in IT support who has a passion for Linux and open source and a desire to learn and grow in these areas.
Pure360 has a diverse eco-system and there are many exciting initiatives under way to improve and strengthen our stack that you could be involved in.
Key responsibilities:

  • Back end support of the Pure360 platform at both a database (MYSQL) and Linux Level
  • Investigating and resolving last line support issues
  • Working with Development to ensure problems are resolved in the platform
  • Maintain servers in conjunction with our hosting partners
  • Ensure accurate and efficient set up and configuration management of servers
  • Providing our customers with the best experience at all times
  • Maintaining Service Knowledge Database with updated and reviewed articles (Workarounds, Known .Errors and Problem Records), and providing new ones as appropriate
  • Out of hours on-call (1 week per month)

Essential Skills:

  • Positive and proactive team-working skills
  • Hands-on Linux experience
  • Enthusiasm for Linux and Open Source
  • Experience supporting Databases in some capacity
  • A strong work ethic (whilst making time to have fun at the end of the day)
  • Is authorised to work in the UK
  • Ability to work independently taking responsibility for the task at hand

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of DNS and SMTP Protocols and Email delivery systems
  • Experience of supporting LAMP stacks
  • Experience working with an ESP
